This seminar is about major, far-reaching changes in the wind provisions of U.S. codes and standards over the last three decades or so. This will include the very substantive changes in wind design provisions from ASCE 7-10 to ASCE 7-16, which are reflected in the 2018 IBC.
This is a chance to review where we have been and gives us a look to the future with the insight of someone who has long been intimately involved in the structural code development process.
The major topics covered are:

It will focus on ASCE 7/ IBC seismic provisions that are often misunderstood or incorrectly applied by the practicing structural engineer. Key topics will include: Redundancy (ρ), R, Cd and Ωo, horizontal and vertical lateral force resisting system combinations, and irregularities. Each topic will include references to lessons learned from past earthquakes, code provisions, suggestions to simplify, and sample problems. Register on line www.seaoal.com
P.S. Unlicensed engineers are free!
If you just love an interesting story, this webinar is for you! SEAoAL and KELLER (Formerly Hayward Baker) have partnered with the ACFA to share the investigation, design & stabilization of the Pointe du Hoc Cliff in Normandy, France. This was an important site during the Normandy landings on D-Day. This project was commissioned by the American Battle Monuments Commission and investigated by Texas A&M University.

Do you need PDH’s?!
If so, check out our platinum sponsor, Alabama Concrete Industries Association’s webinar this Thursday, April 30th from 11 am – 12 pm. This topic will focus on the performance and specification of Portland limestone cement for concrete. 1 PDH will be provided for the event and certificates will be emailed following the program.
This discussion will be led by Bill Goodloe, Director of Technical Services at Cemex. Bill has over 32 years in the concrete and cement business included the last 22 with Cemex. The program will explore the differences between Portland limestone cement PLC and traditional Portland cement, and the impact specification of PLC will have on the performance in place concrete
