Nathaniel Hardy, PE, SE
Company: KPFF
Session: Opening Session at Cheaha State Park Lodge

As the leader of KPFF’s Birmingham office, Nathaniel brings enthusiasm, diligence, and technical expertise across a wide range of structural systems and building types, including mass timber construction, high-rise residential and hospitality, and mixed-use developments. He served as Engineer of Record for the Cheaha State Park Lodge, a landmark mass timber project that reflects both technical excellence and thoughtful design. Nathaniel and his team continue to build a national portfolio of mass timber work, serving as both Engineer of Record and Specialty Timber Engineer. He is known for his collaborative approach and ability to build strong relationships with clients and project teams.

Jared Fulton, AIA
Company: Chambless King Architects

Jared Fulton is a principal at Chambless King Architects in Birmingham, Alabama. Influenced by his Alabama roots and education at Auburn University’s Rural Studio, his work reflects a strong appreciation for resourceful, minimal design grounded in regional context. He plays a key role in business development for the firm and is also active in the Birmingham arts community through a handcrafted furniture company and artist studio space in Woodlawn.

Daniel Hesington, PE, LEED AP

Daniel Hesington is a Branch Engineer for the Southeast U.S. at Simpson Strong-Tie, where he provides engineering support for customers, specifiers, and internal teams with a focus on Mass Timber solutions and structural products. He holds a degree in Architectural Engineering with a structural focus from Penn State University and spent 13 years as a consulting structural engineer before joining Simpson Strong-Tie in 2023. His experience spans commercial, healthcare, residential, educational, and municipal projects.

Trey Phillips
Murray Construction
Session: Opening Session at Cheaha State Park Lodge

Trey Phillips is a Project Manager at Murray Construction and a graduate of Auburn University, where he earned a Bachelor of Science in Building Construction in 2017. He brings nearly a decade of project management experience across healthcare, senior living, student housing, and hospitality projects throughout the Southeast. Trey has contributed to projects totaling more than $396 million in construction value, including the John Sealy Women’s and Children’s Hospital in Texas and student housing in Athens, Georgia. He currently serves as Project Manager for the Cheaha State Park Lodge, a $25.2 million mass timber project.

Tommy Rose
Company: Metalplate Galvanizing
Session: Galvanizing 101: Protecting Steel for Generations to Come

Tommy Rose has over 26 years of experience in the galvanizing industry with Metalplate Galvanizing, working in both plant operations and field sales. He currently serves as Vice President of Sales and Marketing. He has been active in industry leadership, including 14 years on the Board of Directors for the American Galvanizers Association and a term as President. Prior to galvanizing, he worked in the distilled spirits industry and with IBM.

Jack W. Daniels Jr., PE

Jack Daniels is Vice President at Blackburn Daniels O’Barr Inc. He holds degrees in Civil and Structural Engineering from Auburn University and has completed numerous structural projects since joining the firm in 2005. He is an NCEES Record holder and recipient of the 2024 Mike Barrett Memorial Award from AIA Montgomery. He is active in NSPE, ACI, SEAoAL, and ASCE, and serves on the Montgomery Auburn Club Board.

Owen Parrish, PE

Owen Parrish is President of NAFCO, a third-generation leader of a 70+ year family-owned steel fabrication, construction, and engineering company. He oversees major projects across the U.S., including stadiums, aerospace work, amusement structures, and industrial facilities. He holds a civil engineering degree from Auburn University and is a licensed Professional Engineer and Certified Welding Inspector. He previously worked at Brasfield & Gorrie before joining NAFCO.
